Zuriel coming down upon an enemy
Saeryn produced Zuriel in an attempt to create a spawn embodying the essence of both herself and her twin sister, Rhyas. She combined the blighted blood of both sisters into a single draught, which she then gave to the Nyss host chosen to bear this nephilim, for Saeryn intended to create a powerful beast uniquely receptive to both the twins’ minds. That Saeryn was able to accomplish such a feat did not go unnoticed by Everblight. This was perhaps the clearest evidence the dragon had yet received that Saeryn surpassed his other warlocks in ambition and vision.[1]
Having been born from the combined blood of the warlocks, Zuriel shares a distinctive bond with the Nyss twins. Through this deep connection, the nephilim adapts his tactics to best suit whichever of the pair he is currently obeying, though the full effect of this relationship is most evident when Zuriel battles alongside both twins at once. Saeryn and Rhyas have fought together for the entirety of their lives, the actions of one in perfect harmony with those of the other. Zuriel embodies the connection shared between the twins; he is a bridge between the warlock sisters made flesh, a physical manifestation of the mental closeness they share. Zuriel demonstrates stealth and fighting prowess drawn from Rhyas together with a unique receptiveness to Saeryn’s magic.[1]
Perhaps as a consequence of this telepathic bond with two forceful minds, Zuriel demonstrates a strong personality. Larger and more physically imposing than most other nephilim, he also possesses a keen intelligence and a warrior’s pride. Zuriel is aggressive and eager to prove himself, often picking fights with other nephilim to establish dominance among their number. He constantly seeks to hone his skills, and when not slaying the foes of Everblight the beast can be found sparring with Rhyas, the two of them locked in heated displays of martial prowess. His steely determination and will to improve has set Zuriel apart from others of his kind. In battle, Zuriel soars through the sky on powerful wings as he searches out those marked for death by his mistresses. Once Zuriel has found his prey, the nephilim dives from the sky to join the fight, dodging incoming strikes as he speeds through the enemy ranks, cutting down one foe after another with precision strikes from his dual blades. Targets who attempt to escape his reach find themselves engulfed by dragon fire from his fanged maw.[1]
