Praetorian Karax Officer & Standard

Karax Officer observes the field with his standard bearer behind him

Praetorian Karax Officers lead the Praetorian Karax with their standards raised high. As the Army of the Western Reaches continues its campaign of expansion, the skorne find themselves facing greater and more varied opposition, forcing them to diversify their battle tactics giving an opportunity to the warriors of the less dominant Praetorian traditions to earn respect. Westward expansion has opened new opportunity for the karax in particular. As the skorne face the more advanced military might of western Immoren, the resilience of the karax xenka formation has become increasingly essential to victory in battles of every scale. With every victory, the karax legions are expanded, requiring additional officers to lead them and thereby creating opportunities for warriors to distinguish themselves and earn these positions. Lower-ranking officers seek to rise as high as their accomplishments will take them.[1]

In battle, a force of karax under a strong officer’s command becomes an unbreakable wall of steel acting in perfect tandem to strike swiftly and directly. Though the more aggressive Praetorian swordsmen look upon the defensive maneuvers of the karax with disdain, many tyrants understand that a phalanx of karax at the fore of their cohort can mean the difference between magnificent victory and ignominious defeat.[1]
