Venator Slingers

Venator Slingers releasing their deadly ammunition

The whirring susurration of Venator Slingers in battle brings dread even to the hearts of the bravest Praetorians . Centuries of house wars have begun with that noise preceding a rain of shattering globes that drench defenders in lethal, viscous acid that brings an agonizing and humiliating death to even the most heavily armored and revered champions as they shriek in pain with their armor corroding and flesh melting away. Using these weapons, the lowest in the warrior caste can take down the greatest with just a few well-aimed shots and these weapons continue to be used by the armies of the Skorne Empire as they march westward.[1]

The seemingly simple sling, a weapon from one of the oldest skorne martial traditions, has served as a primary hunting tool since the skorne’s days as nomads. Though these slings originated in ancient times, they remain useful today, as they provide vital supporting firepower to the frontline infantry of many houses. The most proficient slingers are drawn from the vast plains of Tor-Sortaan just east of the Abyss. Many smaller houses there lack the resources to equip their Venators with more advanced weapons, so they maintain the traditional discipline for hunting and warfare. Their rustic weapons have become considerably more deadly through the contribution of skorne chymists, who labor to create an ample supply of caustic ammunition.[1]
