Warspear Chieftains

Warspear Chieftain of the Blighted Ogrun in a bloodthirsty charge

Chieftains among the blighted ogrun display tremendous ferocity. Before the blight, these ogrun might have once stalked the great prey necessary to keep their people fed and supplied, but the dragon’s corruption has turned them from noble hunters to cold, ruthless warriors. Having honed their skills through countless conflicts, they are consummate killers that now exult in the slaughter they bring with the points of their massive spears.[1]

On the battlefield, the chieftains direct their forces against the most dangerous of their enemies. At the outset of each engagement, chieftains survey the field of battle for opponents worthy of their attention, for they earn greater glory for slaying a formidable foe. This practice harkens back to the days before the dragon came among the ogrun tribes, when their people roamed the frozen peaks combating fierce beasts or clashing with one another. With unbridled aggression the chieftains led their warspears against these chosen adversaries, offering every kill as a sacrament to higher powers such as Dhunia or the Devourer Wurm. Now these chieftains lay the slain at the feet of the warlocks who embody the dragon they serve.[1]

A chieftain incites his warspears to violence and then leads them into the fray. Even the most rugged terrain poses no obstacle to these frenzied warriors. Rising to the position of chieftain among the warspears requires an ogrun to prove he possesses strength and savagery remarkable even among a race of brutal warriors who prize viciousness in slaughter above all else.[1]
